at every door
a demon asks for treats
with a child's soft voice


I throttle its neck
twisted green moon leers at me
empty wine bottle


morning irritant
big print on dusty car doors
the words, "Please Wash Me!"


bobbing in the lake
a clear plastic container
for bottled water


skyscraper window
up here an excellent view
of the next building


walking city streets
each face avoids eye contact
except the beggars
